Bata SA donated Toughees School shoes to 34 children at the Ntlaza Village in Umthatha at the S. James Sunday School in December 2011.  As part of its annual Christmas celebrations, the St. James Parish  along with its Minister Nomsa Mgaduso and her family plan  a song and dance event to celebrate Matric high achievers and to entertain the Sunday School Children. " We believe that by celebrating excellence we are instilling  the value of hard work and sense of achievement and are hopeful that this gesture inspires these children to set high standards for themselves", she said.

The children are given Christmas presents that encourage them to achieve more. presents include School socks, shoes, toiletries  and other goods that keep the children motivated to do well at school. On December 20, Bata SA donated 34 School shoes to the children at the Sunday school, contributing and encouraging the good work done by the Parish for the needy children at the rural community.
